Poland places first orders for Embraer E195-E2

Embraer E2 LOT Polish Poland

Poland's LOT Polish Airlines will add the Embraer (NYSE: ERJ; B195: EMBR2) E3-E3 to its fleet to increase operational flexibility and support the expansion of its network. The Polish airline will lease three new E2s from Azorra, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable growth by integrating 25% more efficient jets into its fleet. The first aircraft will arrive at the end of July this year, with all deliveries completed by October.

LOT needs a flexible solution to meet its capacity demands and keep up with the growth of its route network. The E2 provides a smooth transition of just a few days for the crews of LOT's first-generation E-Jets, as well as offering a spacious and comfortable cabin for passengers, designed to offer an unparalleled travel experience without middle seats. . The new E2s also add flexibility, complementing the company's larger narrow body aircraft with similar cost per seat.

“We are pleased to announce the leasing of three state-of-the-art E195-E2 jets from Azorra, as we look to our future with a nod to our pioneering past. This strategic addition to our fleet not only marks our ongoing commitment to sustainable aviation, but also celebrates our partnership with Embraer since the launch of the first E-Jet in 2004. We are prepared to improve our network by introducing additional frequencies to destinations selected, to the exceptional efficiency and comfort we can offer passengers with this jet,” said Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, said: “As an Azorra customer, we are proud to support LOT in its strategic growth and operation of one of the youngest fleets in Europe. These new E195-E2s offer concrete benefits for LOT, such as a reduction in fuel consumption, carbon emissions and operating costs, with greater comfort for passengers. We thank Embraer and Pratt & Whitney for their continued partnership as we continue to expand the E2 customer base.”

The airline will configure the E195-E2, with capacity for up to 146 passengers, in a comfortable single-class layout with 136 seats.

LOT was the first E-Jet operator, in 2004. The first flight took place on March 17, 2004 and was carried out by an E170 departing from Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to Vienna, Austria. The 85-minute, 520-km flight marked the beginning of the great success of Embraer's aircraft family: the program's 1.800th E-Jet, an E190-E2, was recently delivered to a customer in the Middle East.

LOT currently has a fleet of 43 E-Jets, making it one of the largest jet operators in Europe. LOT's fleet of E-Jets has already flown 850 million kilometers, with 1,4 million flight hours, and carrying more than 60 million passengers – almost double the population of Poland.
