Boeing 747-8 Atlas Air last produced flight Brazil Guarulhos

Being the last produced unit of the Boeing 747 in history, the N863GT is on its way to Brazil for the first time. Operated by Atlas Air, the aircraft is currently flying flight 5Y8052 between Miami (MIA) and Guarulhos International Airport (GRU).

For enthusiasts and spotters on duty, the arrival of the last 'Queen of Heaven' produced will be remarkable, even more so because it is the 1.574th 747 produced. Interestingly, the N863GT has a sticker on the fuselage in honor of Joe Sutter, considered the father of the Boeing 747.

As the first twin-aisle, “jumbo jet” aircraft, the “Queen of Heaven” allowed airlines to connect people over vast distances and offer nonstop transoceanic flights. Its development solidified Boeing's role as a leader in the commercial aviation industry.

The plane's flagship design, with its distinctive bulge and upper-deck seating, has delighted generations of passengers and operators alike. Boeing continued to improve the original design with models such as the 747-400 in 1988 and the final model 747-8 introduced in 2005; across all models, the jet has delivered unparalleled operating economy and efficiency to the travel and air cargo markets.

The plane was initially used to transport passengers and later becoming a versatile option for transporting cargo, the Boeing 747 undoubtedly revolutionized the history of aviation. The model had six variants (747-100, 747-200,747, 747-SP, 300-747, 400-747 and 8-XNUMX).

“For more than half a century, tens of thousands of dedicated Boeing employees have designed and built this magnificent airplane that truly changed the world. We are proud that this aircraft will continue to fly around the world for years to come.” Kim Smith, vice president and general manager of Boeing.

The 747 has played a key role in Boeing's history of aerospace leadership.
