LATAM Brasil says goodbye to the Boeing 767 with passengers; marking the end of the TAM brand in the skies

Boeing 767 TAM LATAM Brasil despedida

After rumors about the end of Boeing 767 passenger operations in LATAM Brazil, the company confirmed the rumor, as well as announcing the destination of the two remaining aircraft in the fleet.

With LATAM Brasil still operating the PT-MOD and PT-MSO, the latter being the last aircraft still with the TAM brand, the 15-year historical relationship comes to an end. The farewell is scheduled to take place on November 15th, on flight LA3561 between Manaus (MAO) and Guarulhos (GRU).

After withdrawal, the aircraft will be converted to exclusively transport cargo. The routes previously operated by the Boeing 767 will now have the 787 Dreamliner as a supporting role.

With the arrival of the first 767 in June 2008, still in the TAM era, the Boeing 767-300 served to connect not only international routes, but also domestic routes due to its versatility in transporting passengers and cargo.

Interestingly, almost all of the 767-300ERs that were part of LATAM Brazil came from Lan Chile, with most of the aircraft manufactured between 2012 and 2013. Currently, the Boeing 767-300 is still manufactured, but as a freighter.

Finally, the Boeing 767 also says goodbye to the transport of passengers by Brazilian operators, the plane was present at Varig, TransBrasil, Oceanair, BRA and FAB.
