LATAM carries out international flight with humanitarian aid to RS in conjunction with the Federal Government

LATAM Brazil humanitarian flight Rio Grande do Sul Portugal Lisbon RS

The first international humanitarian aid for Rio Grande do Sul transported on a commercial flight has just been landed at Guarulhos airport (São Paulo). In total, 300 kilos of donations from the Brazilian community in Portugal were accommodated free of charge in the cargo compartment of the LATAM Boeing 787 that operated the flight on the Lisbon-São Paulo route this Friday (17/5).

The joint operation of LATAM's Solidarity Plane program with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Ports and Airports of Brazil lasted 10 hours and reduced the time it took to move cargo between the two countries by 31 days compared to sea transport.

The shipment of blankets, warm clothing, among other items, is now stored at Guarulhos International Airport (SP) and will be reloaded free of charge by LATAM on its next special humanitarian flight to Canoas Air Base (RS).
