LATAM has just announced yet another expansion of its international connectivity. This is the operation between Lima (Peru) and Havana (Cuba). The route, subject to government approval, is scheduled to open on October 29 of this year with four flights a week. Havana will be the fifth destination in the Caribbean with flights from LATAM, which already offers tickets to Cancún (Mexico), Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), San José (Costa Rica) and Aruba. Tickets go on sale in the next few days at and other channels.

Suspended since March 2020 following the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lima-Havana flight will once again operate in connection with the São Paulo/Guarulhos-Lima flights, resulting in a total trip of 13 hours for Brazilians looking to visit the Caribbean island. The new route will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays on Airbus A319 aircraft (capacity for 12 passengers in Premium Economy cabin and 126 in Economy) or Airbus A320 (capacity for 12 passengers in Premium Economy cabin and 162 in Economy). The flight will depart from Lima at 9:15 am (local time) and from Havana at 17:25 pm (local time).

Havana is the capital and main tourist and cultural center of Cuba. Valuable not only for its historic spaces such as the Fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña – the largest built by Spain in America – and the Church of the Queen, in Havana, art and culture mix at all levels with relevant events such as the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema and the Havana International Ballet Festival.
