An Air Force IA-63 Pampa III trainer jet Argentina (FAA) made an emergency landing in the Province of Córdoba on 17/01. The military aircraft suffered a failure in the front landing gear, which did not extend, during an experimental flight. The aircraft touched the runway with only the main landing gear.
The aircraft registered A-711 belonged to the FAA's Flight Test Center (CEV). With the failure detected, the pilot made an emergency landing at the Military Aviation School in Córdoba. A video shows the moment the IA-63 lands on the base, dragging the front section across the asphalt.

The aircraft was accompanied by firefighters, who were already ready during the approach. According to X, the FAA reported that the landing occurred without any major problems and that the pilot was not injured. The jet was recently modernized to Pampa III Block 2 standard, having been delivered by Fábrica Argentina de Aviones (FAdeA) at the end of December.

The IA-63 Pampa is a light attack and training aircraft developed by Argentina in partnership with Germany's Dornier. The Pampa is based on the Franco-German Alpha-Jet and replaced the Morane Saulnier MS.760 Paris at the FAA. In addition to being used to train new aviators, the IA-63 can perform ground attack missions, capable of carrying general purpose bombs, machine guns and cannons. Forty-one planes have been manufactured since production began in the late 1980s.
