Late this Tuesday morning (16), flight LA3744 between Brasília (BSB) and João Pessoa (JPA) ended up diverting to Salvador airport (SSA) after one of the crew members fell ill.
Sources close to the matter said that the flight commander ended up fainting during the flight, forcing the aircraft to alternate at Salvador Airport. Faced with the unexpected situation, the Airbus A320 declared an emergency and landed safely in Salvador at around 11:14. On the ground, a medical team provided necessary medical assistance.
The flight continued, taking off only at 15:08 pm, landing in João Pessoa at around 16:20 pm.

"LATAM informs that flight LA3744 (Brasília-João Pessoa) this Tuesday (16/1) was diverted to Salvador airport to provide medical care to one of the technical crew members, who felt unwell on board. The flight landed completely safely and passengers affected by the situation received all necessary assistance. The same flight took off at 15:08 pm and landed in João Pessoa at 16:22 pm. The company emphasizes that it followed all the protocols foreseen for this type of situation and reiterates that it adopts all possible safety measures, technical and operational, to guarantee a safe trip for everyone".
