LATAM transported, free of charge, through its Avião Solidário program, more than 8 tons of basic food baskets donated to fight hunger in Pernambuco. In partnership with the non-profit organization G10 Favelas, the company loaded the supplies in the cargo compartments of its flights operated on the Guarulhos-Recife route between April 9 and 16. Since 2023, LATAM's Avião Solidário program has been a partner in the work of G10 Favelas, which brings together leaders and social impact entrepreneurs from the largest favelas in Brazil to make donations into inputs and basic food baskets for communities spread across the country.

"The commitment of our Solidarity Plane is to make the solution reach quickly and to those who need it most in this continental country that is Brazil. Therefore, we put our logistical experiences and connectivity at the service of entities such as G10 Favelas”, explains Lígia Sato, head of Sustainability at LATAM Brasil.

LATAM AND G10 FAVELAS HAVE A HISTORY OF JOINT ACTIONS IN PERNAMBUCO

LATAM's Solidarity Plane and G10 Favelas worked together in 2023 to transport nine tons of humanitarian aid donated to victims of heavy rains in Pernambuco. At the end of 2023, they transported 39 tons of food collected free of charge to the vulnerable population of Pernambuco, Minas Gerais and the Federal District. In March 2024, it was time to transport more than 23 tons of basic food baskets to six other Brazilian states, including Pernambuco again.

Other locations in Brazil have also benefited positively from the joint action of LATAM's Solidarity Plane with G10 Favelas. In January this year, the company provided more than 200 intimate hygiene kits collected by G200 Favelas to combat menstrual poverty for free to 10 public school students on Ilha do Marajó (PA). In February, more than 3 tons of basic food baskets were transported free of charge by the LATAM Solidarity Plane from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro to help victims of heavy rains in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

SOLIDARITY PLANE: COMMITMENT AS BRAZIL
