NASA Boeing Starliner Manned Test Flight Slated for May 6

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex NASA Boeing

Boeing's next crewed flight test (CFT), the third orbital mission of the Boeing CST-100 Starliner, will mark a crucial milestone. This will be the first manned flight after the Starliner Boe-OFT-2 mission successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS) in May 2022. Its successful return to dry land in the United States and subsequent authorization for this first crewed test flight, necessary to obtain the necessary NASA certification, pave the way for future missions that will transport astronauts to the ISS.

This exciting launch will send two astronauts to the International Space Station for the first time aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. A historic moment in space exploration and a great experience for anyone visiting the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

How about watching it up close, in a privileged location, at the Apollo/Saturn V Center, where you will see the rocket leave the platform, just 8,7 km away. This exclusive opportunity is available through the purchase of a premium ticket launch, in addition to regular admission. Seats in the stands are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Check-in begins at 20pm ET and boarding will begin at 20:15pm ET at the Complex bus zone.

This crewed test flight will demonstrate the ability of Boeing's Starliner and United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket to safely transport astronauts to and from the International Space Station. Following the success of this mission, NASA will begin the final process of certifying the Starliner spacecraft and its systems for regular crew rotation flights to the space station.
