The concessionaire Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos, in partnership with the Federal Police and BAEP/PM, carried out on the morning of this Friday (03/05), practical training in the vicinity of Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas – SP, entitled 'Simulated of reactive action against theft of securities companies', which consisted of testing the integrated actions and actions of the Security Forces and the airport community in the face of an alleged robbery of two armored vehicles on one of the aerodrome's roads.

The training also had the participation of the Civil Police, State Highway Police, Army, Municipal Guard, EMDEC and a company specialized in the transportation of valuables. According to the Viracopos concessionaire, the training contributed to the analysis of the effectiveness of the security procedures defined in the airport's Contingency Plan and complied with the regulatory requirements of ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency).

According to the plot of the simulation, two armored cars from a cash transport company were approached by three vehicles, after leaving TECA (Cargo Terminal). The alleged criminals got out of the vehicles shooting and closed one of the access roads to prevent the armored vehicles from passing.

The securities company's security guards called the police via radio. All planned operations were carried out, including the Federal Police and the airport. The training ended with the action of the BAEP/PM, which surrounded the alleged criminals and captured them, after a simulated intense exchange of gunfire.  

“We had training with BAEP to test the response to an armored vehicle robbery. In the coming days, we will have other training sessions, one on bank robbery, with GOE, and another with the Municipal Guard, responding to an invasion in the perimeter area of ​​Viracopos Airport. The objective of these actions is to verify how each of the forces responds to these events and we integrate with those with greater capacity, greater mobility or greater military assets to respond effectively”, declared the Federal Police delegate in Campinas, Edson Geraldo de Souza .

“We simulate the approach to criminals and the police response. It is important that, in addition to training police tactics and techniques, all police forces are in line, both private security and public security. We want to make it clear that, here in Viracopos, we have the conditions to deal with any type of incident, regardless of the means used by criminals”, said the captain of BAEP/PM, Alexandre Antunes
