One of the most anticipated routes in the history of Florianópolis International Airport, the flight between Florianópolis and North America and the Caribbean, via Panama, is now a reality. From June 25, 2024, passengers will be able to board direct flights to Panama, the so-called hub of the Americas, at Florianópolis International Airport. From there, you can connect directly to North America and the Caribbean. The announcement of the arrival of the new route operated by Copa Airlines was made at an event held this afternoon, on the Panoramic Terrace of Floripa Airport, with the presence of guests and authorities.

Panama City has a strategic location and a fundamental role in connectivity with North America and the Caribbean. From there, Copa operates 85 destinations in 32 countries. The route will have a frequency of 3 times a week, with capacity for 160 passengers per flight and will begin operating on June 25, 2024. Florianópolis becomes Copa Airlines' seventh destination in Brazil.

The unprecedented route reinforces the internationalization of Florianópolis Airport, which now has four international airlines operating regularly – Copa Airlines, SKY, Flybondi and JetSMART.

In addition to Florianópolis, Copa Airlines also announced the incorporation of new routes to Tulum, in Mexico and Raleigh-Durham, in the United States.
