Argentina signs IA-63 Pampa III sale agreement with Guatemala

A sales agreement for the IA-63 Pampa III aircraft was signed this Tuesday between Argentina and Guatemala. Argentine Defense Minister Oscar Aguad meets Guatemalan Defense Minister Luis Miguel Roldán Moreno. The agreement involves the sale of two IA-63 Pampa IIIs to the Central American country.

This will be the first international sale of this version of Pampa. The estimated value for this is US$ 28 million. The sales package even includes spare parts and training by art from the Argentines.

Guatemala will acquire the aircraft for training and border policing. With a future ahead, the Guatemalan Air Force should acquire more units of the IA-63 Pampa III.

The Argentine Air Force currently has 22 units of the IA-63 Pampa, in addition to 22 A4 Skyhawks that protect Argentine airspace, as well as the IA-58 Pucará, with 32 units. The Pucarás are made in Argentina and play a role in training and light attacks.

The IA-63 Pampa III is an Argentine-made aircraft, manufactured by FAdeA, it is already in its third version and features a modern cockpit that facilitates the pilots' work. It is an advanced trainer that brings the young pilot a whole new dynamic of flight and operation, and can also be used for light attacks.
