A Boeing 747 freighter from the airline Cargolux, lost part of its landing gear after landing in Luxembourg, shortly after taking off from the same airport yesterday (14).

At the time, the Boeing 747-400 registration LV-OCV was flying CV6857 from Luxembourg, Cargolux hub, to Chicago in the USA. Upon reaching 10 feet, the crew interrupted the ascent of the aircraft as they were unable to retract the landing gear and declared an emergency.

After 50 minutes of takeoff, the giant freighter dumped fuel to perform a lighter landing and the crew proceeded to land on runway 06 at Luxembourg Airport.

When the Cargolux Boeing 747 touched down, part of the right side central landing gear came off, but the aircraft managed to stop safely and without any signs of fire.

The right side landing gear wheels that broke left the runway and stopped in front of the company hangar.

Cargolux confirmed by means of a note that the crew was unable to collect the landing gear of the Boeing 747 after takeoff from Luxembourg. Despite the situation, the company reported that there were no injuries and that the plane suffered considerable damage and immediately began recovery.
