Azorra delivered the first of nine Embraer E190-E2 aircraft to Scoot, a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA).
The delivery ceremony was held today in São José dos Campos, with the presence of executives from Azorra, Scoot and Embraer. The E190-E2 “Explorer 3.0”, a commemorative name in honor of the third and newest addition to the Scoot family fleet, marks the first delivery of an Embraer jet to a Singaporean airline.
“We are honored to be the first Singaporean airline to receive this modern, fuel-efficient aircraft. The E190-E2 jets are crucial to our overall network growth strategy. The delivery of the first model reflects our confidence in the demand for air travel and our commitment to connecting our customers to more destinations for the same value. We thank Azorra and Embraer for supporting us in this next chapter as we become the first major E2 operator in Southeast Asia,” highlights Leslie Thng, CEO of Scoot.
Operation of Scoot's E2 is scheduled to begin in May 2024. The inaugural flight of the “Explorer 3.0” will take place to Krabi, Thailand.
