The announcement was made at Embraer's headquarters, in São José dos Campos (SP), during the naming ceremony of an aircraft, which received the name Azul & Embraer. Pride of Brazil. The event was attended by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and government ministers, as well as John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul, and Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer.

The purchase consolidates Azul in the operation of regional routes, in addition to representing a great boost for the national industry and the socioeconomic development of Brazil, allowing the company to operate in airports previously unserved in the country. Today, the company is the largest operator of Embraer's latest generation jets, the E195-E2 model, and also has the largest purchase order for this Brazilian aircraft.

Embraer's E2 has capacity for 136 Customers, and is the largest and most modern aircraft manufactured in Brazil. The equipment is the most efficient single-aisle model currently on the market, offering savings of up to 25% in CO2 emissions. Azul currently operates 20 aircraft of the same model, equipped with Wi-Fi and individual televisions.

The Brazilian company, which has been contributing to Brazil's socioeconomic development for 15 years, including having the country's map printed on its aircraft, received the first E195-E2 manufactured by Embraer in 2019. Currently, in total, Azul has a fleet of 189 aircraft, including Embraer aircraft, in addition to large-capacity models used on international routes and those operated by Azul Conecta. The average age of the current fleet is one of the lowest in the world, at 7,4 years.

Azul currently operates in 160 destinations, including domestic and international routes, with more than 1.000 daily flights. The reinforcement of the E2 fleet increases the versatility of the company's operations, as the Embraer jet has the capacity to operate not only in larger airports, but also in regional aerodromes, further away from large centers.
