LATAM will begin operating Brasília-Santiago with three weekly flights on June 1st this year. In the next days, the company will begin selling airline tickets for its second international route in the Federal District (opened Brasília-Lima in 2023). LATAM plans to transport up to 20 thousand passengers per year in its new operation between Brazil and Chile, which already has regular operations Guarulhos-Santiago, Galeão-Santiago, Confins-Santiago, Curitiba-Santiago, Florianópolis-Santiago and Porto Alegre-Santiago .

In this sense, the Brasília-Santiago flight will always be operated on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on board Airbus A320 (174 passengers) and A321 (220 passengers) aircraft with an average duration of 5 hours. It will take off at 8:50 am (local time) from Brasília and at 13:40 pm (local time) from Santiago. Compared to a trip connecting at São Paulo/Guarulhos airport, the new route reduces the average travel time between the Brazilian federal capital and Chile from 7 to 5 hours.

"In addition to being the gateway for Brazilians seeking the wonders of our neighbors in South America or Oceania, Brasília has the potential to increasingly be the gateway for international travelers seeking quick connections to the North and Northeast of Brazil. , and also for the attractions of our Midwest. Just as happened with Brasília-Lima, our Brasília-Santiago flight is already born with this two-way potential and Brazilian tourism is the biggest beneficiary”, comment Aline Mafra, Director of Sales and Marketing at LATAM Brazil.

The Brasília-Santiago route had not been operated by LATAM since March 2020, following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and international health restrictions.

BRASILIA-SANTIAGO

Furthermore, the new route will more quickly connect passengers embarking in cities such as Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, João Pessoa and Manaus to Chile and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand), and vice versa. At the same time, it represents another opportunity to introduce international tourists to the attractions of the Brazilian Center-West, such as Chapada dos Veadeiros and Chapada Imperial, the waterfalls and caves of Salto de Corumbá and Cocalzinho de Goiás, in addition to the historical architecture of municipalities such as Pirenópolis.

In 2023, LATAM and Embratur signed a technical cooperation agreement to promote Brazil internationally and, currently, LATAM operates an average of 67 flights per day in Brasília to 32 other airports. Thus, in 2023, in addition to the Brasília-Lima route, where 300 thousand passengers have already embarked in 10 months, LATAM has launched for travelers connecting in Brasília the possibility of making a stopover 3 days.
