Recife Aena Airport Brazil

A package of improvements at the six airports managed by Aena Brasil was disclosed by the operator's CEO in the country, Santiago Yus.

To ensure the high standard of services provided by the operator, the CEO announced that the requalification of the terminal in Recife will start in January of next year.

The works must include bathrooms, air conditioning systems, accessibility and signage. In all, there will be three investment blocks, the second of which, in the operations area, is expected to be delivered by June 2023.

The works begin in January 2021, according to information released by Aena.

The announcement was made this past Thursday (19/11), during the delivery event of the Seal Turismo Seguro, an initiative of the Government of Pernambuco, recognizing the performance of Recife Guararapes/Gilberto Freyre International Airport in the safe resumption of tourist activities in the State.

Recife Airport stands out for being one of the main hubs of Azul, in addition to receiving several cargo flights during the week, being also one of the main ones in the northeast in this sense.

“Now we have started to resume operations and we already have the investment dates. This first block of reforms will be for requalification of bathrooms, improvement in air conditioning, signaling and other immediate actions. For the six airports, the amount will be around BRL 120 million”, commented the president of Aena Brasil, Santiago Yus.

Many passengers have complained to Portal Aeroflap in recent weeks about overcrowding in the baggage drop-off and check-in area at Recife Airport, especially during peak hours.
