Azul Conecta flight 5101 took off this Monday (06) from Maricá bound for São Paulo (Viracopos). This was the inaugural flight of Voa Maricá, a program run by the City of Maricá for operations with Azul Conecta planes. Starting today, Maricá Airport, managed by the Maricá Development Company (Codemar), will have daily flights to São Paulo. Soon, connections to Brasília and other cities will also begin. Tickets can be purchased on the website voomarica.com.br.
Voa Maricá also has two new initiatives: social tariff and sale of airline tickets through the local currency Mumbuca. With the social fare, tickets are sold from R$100.
To inaugurate the program, the mayor of Maricá, Fabiano Horta; the president of Codemar, Hamilton Lacerda; the city's Government Secretary, João Maurício; the president of the Maricá City Council, Aldair de Linda; State Representative Renato Machado; the Director of Operations at Codemar, Marta Magge; and two beneficiaries of the Basic Citizenship Income (RBC), the cook Maria José Euflazino and her daughter, the beautician Marcela Euflazino.
“It's an important milestone, I think it symbolizes the development of Maricá, meaning that routes to other states can give Maricá this regional dimension. Voa Maricá also aims to offer the opportunity for everyone to have access to civil aviation”, said the mayor of Maricá, Fabiano Horta.
The president of Codemar, Hamilton Lacerda, said that Voa Maricá is already a success. According to him, tickets are already sold out for several dates.
“Now it is possible for the population to buy a ticket to São Paulo to boost their business or to do tourism, which they previously did not have the possibility of doing so. We are going to definitely place Maricá on the Brazilian airline network and make sure that this boosts our economic development. This is Codemar's commitment, this is the commitment of Fabiano Horta's government and we are working day and night to make Voa Maricá viable and an even greater success”, he analyzed.
According to Hamilton, Voa Maricá will soon be expanded to other states. “Maricá is really going to fly”, she said.
Social Rate
Both the social fare and the sale of airline tickets through local currency are unprecedented initiatives and contribute to the economic and social development of Maricá.
For the first time flying by plane, cook Maria José and her daughter, beautician Marcela Euflazino, boarded the inaugural flight super excited.
“It’s a lot of excitement to travel with this social fare, which gives many people the opportunity to fly. My daughter and I can now fly and I think everyone here in Maricá will be able to travel”, said Maria José.
Alongside her mother, Marcela Euflazino also spoke about Voa Maricá. “I think this opportunity is incredible for Maricá. Even more so because you can pay with Mumbuca, it’s a great benefit for the population,” she said.
Discount
Anyone who buys tickets to travel in the first 60 days of flight, that is, until July 6th, gets a 50% discount. During this period, RBC beneficiaries who purchase tickets at the social rate pay R$100 each way.
Tickets can be purchased by all passengers using the following payment methods: Mumbuca currency, credit card, debit card and pix.
For those who opt for the social rate or payment in Mumbuca currency, sales are made exclusively through in-person service at the Airport.
