Azul Cargo expands help stations in the south of the country

Donations Azul Azul Conecta Rio Grande do Sul Porto Alegre Chuvas

Azul Cargo Express will use its land infrastructure, which covers 5 Brazilian cities – a coverage equivalent to 90% of the national territory – to expand humanitarian aid to Rio Grande do Sul.

With the decision, Azul's logistics unit will make its 300 stores available, distributed throughout all regions of the country, to also serve as collection points for those who want to donate supplies and essential items to residents of more than 300 municipalities affected by the floods in region.

This is yet another initiative to reinforce the efforts of all of Azul, which has been promoting an internal and external fundraising campaign, with its Crew and Customers, since the beginning of this climate catastrophe in southern Brazil. Now, the population can use more than 500 collection points linked to the company to make their donation. This includes, in addition to Azul Cargo Express stores, the 160 airports in which it operates and the 103 stores of Azul Viagens, the company's tourism operator.

For Izabel Reis, director of Azul Cargo Express, using the reach and quality of services from Azul's logistics unit to support Rio Grande do Sul is more than an obligation as Brazilians. “For us, all this support for a state that collaborated with the growth of Azul and so many companies in the country has become a priority today. And we will continue to make our teams, operations and infrastructure available to offer all the necessary support to municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul,” she explains.

According to Porto Alegre City Hall's Social Assistance, the most necessary items for donation, at the moment, are non-perishable food and basic food baskets, personal hygiene items - such as toothpaste and toothbrushes -, bed and bath linen and mineral water.
