The Governor of the State of Roraima, Antonio Denarium, met with the CEO of Caribbean Airlines, Trevor Sadler, to negotiate an agreement involving international passenger and cargo flights to Roraima.
The executive stated that the arrival of Caribbean Airlines to Roraima can implement and strengthen trade and tourism between the State of Roraima and the Caribbean, as Caribbean is one of the largest operators in the region.
According to Denarium, the company has already started the legal procedures with ANAC to operate in the region, with Boa Vista (BVB) being the main candidate to win the company's international flights.
Despite the optimistic outcome, another airline also has the desire to operate in Roraima, the Venezuelan Rutaca Airlines, but due to problems involving international sanctions, it has been finding difficulties in establishing regular flights in the region.
Finally, there are no further details about the possible start of Caribbean Airlines operations. The company currently has a fleet of 737 MAX 8 and ATR 72-600 aircraft, with a strong presence throughout the Caribbean and the region.
