In line with the restructuring plan via judicial recovery in the USA (Chapter 11), GOL defined after negotiations that it will return up to 16 aircraft, as reported by Valor Econômico.
With a fleet of 141 aircraft divided between the Boeing 737 NG (-800 and -700) and the 737 MAX (state-of-the-art), the company is expected to end 2024 with between 125 and 133 aircraft.
GOL also announced the favorable outcome with AerCap, one of the main companies for leasing aircraft to the company. Last Wednesday (10), the court released the last part of the financing for the restructuring, worth US$450 million.
Sources close to the matter point out that the aircraft that will have to be returned will be NG series planes, which include unused units in Confins and Congonhas. It is not known when the refund will begin.
On the other hand, GOL is expected to receive up to 14 Boeing 737 MAX 8 in the coming months.
