ITA Airways expands its offer of direct flights between Tokyo Haneda and Rome Fiumicino to meet high customer demand. Starting this month, the companhia is operating 2 additional frequencies to fly between the two capitals, bringing the total weekly frequencies between Japan and Italy to 7.

With the new frequencies, ITA Airways travelers will have access to a daily flight to and from Japan, which represents a strategic market for both business and leisure traffic. The schedule for the Tokyo Haneda – Rome Fiumicino route during the upcoming summer season includes daily departure from Tokyo at 12:25 pm (local time) and arrival in Rome Fiumicino at 20:10 pm (local time). The return from Rome Fiumicino is scheduled for 14:55 pm (local time) with landing in Tokyo at 10:25 am (local time) the following day.

Likewise, North America, Africa and the Middle East are the markets where ITA Airways will launch direct flights from its Rome Fiumicino hub. In fact, a new direct flight from Rome Fiumicino to Chicago will be launched in April, as well as direct flights to Toronto and Riyadh in May. In June it will be the turn of direct flights to Accra and Kuwait, in July to Dakar and in August to Jeddah.

In total, in summer 2024, ITA Airways will operate 57 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental. Additionally, during peak summer, ITA Airways will add 10 seasonal connections, selected from the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, including Greece, Spain, Croatia and the Italian islands, accessible via direct flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate. These are Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, as well as Split and Kefalonia.

The new intercontinental destinations in the summer of 2024 add to the direct flights already operated to New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, San Francisco, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and New Delhi. ITA Airways began operations on October 15, 2021, with a fleet of 52 aircraft. Currently the ITA Airways fleet includes 83 Airbuses, 40 of which are state-of-the-art.
