To deal with the growing demand for the coming years, the Russian news agency TASS reported that the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which controls the manufacturers Illyushin, Irkut and Tupolev, confirms the increase in the production rate of Tupolev aircraft. 214 for 20 a year, in addition to the cargo version. 

Yury Slyusar, head of the UAC, said that deliveries of both the Tupolev Tu-214, MC-21-310 and the SSJ-NEW to airlines are expected to start in 2024, except for the last one which is expected to be delivered to a Russian company in December of this year. year.

The Tupolev Tu-214 is an upgraded, longer-range version of the base Tu-204, capable of carrying up to 210 passengers with extra tanks. Both versions are equipped with Aviadvigatel PS-90 turbofan engines. 

Production of the Tupolev Tu-214 will gradually increase year after year, as Russia predicts that the market will need more than 1.000 planes by mid-2030. By 2026, according to the government, the rate will be 20 aircraft per year, for the time being it will be 10 aircraft due to the supply chain.
