O LATAM Group revealed last Tuesday (30), its new economy cabin that will equip its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. To implement the change, LATAM will invest around US$15 million per aircraft, with four 787-9 aircraft scheduled to receive the new feature in 2024.
The main novelty is the design of the seats, inspired by the company's visual identity, with the colors red and blue predominating.
The new seats feature reclining backrests and a 12-inch Panasonic entertainment screen, allowing passengers to use LATAM entertainment via Bluetooth. The company also reported that the new seats are covered with 57% recycled leather, reducing carbon emissions by up to 60%, also saving water use and land use by up to 55%.
"These improvements position the LATAM group at the forefront of the region in terms of in-flight entertainment platforms, along with this renewed cabin, which reflects the unique spirit and pride of this incredible region. It's about experiencing the warmth and hospitality of South America”, said Jaime Cornejo, Cabin Manager, Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity at LATAM Airlines Group.
