Paraíba Airport offers the largest air network in its history

Campina Grande airport

With twice the operational capacity and completely renovated, Campina Grande Airport now offers strategic routes, with flights to seven destinations, six of which are direct and several connection possibilities every day. Managed by Aena, the aerodrome currently operates four connections to capitals in the Northeast: Recife, Salvador, Fortaleza and Maceió. In the Southeast, there are three connections: Rio de Janeiro (Galeão), São Paulo (Congonhas) and Confins (MG).

The reform provided an increase in Campina Grande's air network, the biggest expansion in the history of the region. At the beginning of the year, Latam began offering flights to Recife and Fortaleza, operated by VoePass. Starting in June, Aracaju and Petrolina will also enter the Campinas terminal route. Each of the destinations was strategically designed to meet customer demand and encourage tourism in the city of Paraíba.

The capital of Minas Gerais, for example, is considered an important connection point to other locations in Brazil and abroad. Rio de Janeiro was a response to the needs of passengers themselves, who constantly travel between the two cities. Campina Grande also had reinforced integration with the Northeast, being able to connect with more than 40 cities through the capital of Pernambuco. Azul hubs are located in Recife and Confins, which expand connection possibilities.

The airport in Campinas closed 2023 with a historic milestone and impressive numbers in all indicators. Compared to the previous year, the terminal registered an increase of almost 70% in passenger flow, moving more than 226 thousand people. In total, between landings and takeoffs, there were 4.133 operations, almost 50% more than in 2022. The terminal also had an increase of 18,7% in the number of cargo, transporting 578 tons in the year.

“We obtained impressive results in all three indicators. Seeing Campina Grande Airport with numbers as impressive as these is a great incentive to continue working and improving even more. We left 2022 with just two destinations offered in our terminal for seven destinations in 2023 and more news is coming. In June, there will be two new destinations: Aracaju and Petrolina. The main objective is to continue growing and maintaining the quality of the service offered to passengers and users, so that the experience in our terminal is the best possible”, declared director Luciano Rodrigues.
