Boeing delivers next-generation interceptor proposal to US Missile Defense Agency

Boeing today (12/08) submitted its bid to the United States Missile Defense Agency for the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) tender, proposing a design that leverages the company's more than 60 years of history and experience in weapons systems. and strategic missiles.

"Boeing's NGI proposal offers unparalleled performance, affordability and reliability for the nation and the warfighter," said Norm Tew, vice president and general manager, Weapons and Missile Systems and senior executive at the Huntsville site. “Building on our previous investments and proven technologies, our innovative proposition offers a creative, compelling and revolutionary technical approach to overcome, innovate, deter and defeat rapidly evolving advanced threats.”

If selected, Boeing will utilize its proven capabilities along with an industry-leading team to ensure its unique offering is delivered to the warfighter on time.

“Boeing is well positioned to provide innovative solutions that greatly expand this missile defense capability, always focused on supporting the warrior”, said Tew. “We are leveraging our unrivaled mission expertise to design, develop and deliver a low-risk, highly effective MDA solution.”

The NGI will be used to keep the deterrent ready and ensure the continued protection of the United States' homeland from ICBMs. The award of the contract is expected later this year.
