Aena Brasil will renovate three airports: Campina Grande, João Pessoa and Recife

Palmas Airport

Aena Brasil met the Board of Directors, on Wednesday, November 10th, to close the competition for the renovation works of three airports in the Northeast of Brazil (Recife, João Pessoa and Campina Grande), as provided for in the concession contract with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

During the meeting, tenders were held for the works to expand the infrastructure of Lot 1 (Recife Airport), with the consortium of companies Modo-Passarelli as the winner; and the works on Lot 2 (João Pessoa and Campina Grande Airports), won by the Teixeira Duarte & Alves Ribeiro consortium.

Soon, there will be a competition for the works at the airports in Maceió, Aracaju and Juazeiro do Norte, which are part of Lot 3.

In this way, the renovations of the six airports will begin, both on the land side and in the air, at the beginning of next year.

Aena Brasil has already carried out the works related to the emergency actions required by the contract with Anac, such as the renovation of all bathrooms, air conditioning installations, signage, free wifi, lighting, escalators, accessibility, correction of masonry flaws, among other improvements, in the six airports it manages, with the approval of the agency.

The president of Aena, Maurici Lucena, informed these advances to the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcisio de Freitas, with whom he had a meeting this Thursday, November 11th.
