Frontier, Wizz Air and JetSMART order 50 Airbus A321XLR aircraft

A Indigo Partners announced an order for 50 Airbus A321XLR aircraft, the new version of very long range launched on Monday (17/06).

According to Indigo, the aircraft will be distributed to Frontier Airlines, from the United States, JetSMART, from Chile and Wizz Air, from Hungary.

The agreement was signed under a memorandum of understanding, with 18 orders for the A321XLR derived from previous orders, but for the A320neo.

Frontier pointed out that this is a good aircraft for flights from the east coast of the USA to Hawaii, in addition to allowing international flights to South America and Europe, the North American Low Cost company will have 18 A321XLR aircraft from this order.

For Frontier, deliveries will take place between 2024 and 2026.

Wizz Air is expected to receive 20 A321XLR planes, and JetSMART is expected to receive around 12 aircraft.

The four Indigo Group airlines now operate a total of 295 Airbus planes and, with the new commitments, have 636 planes on order, most of them for India's IndiGo.
