On Friday afternoon (3), Congonhas Airport temporarily ceased operations after an executive plane skidded off the runway.
According to information from Aena Brasil, the concessionaire responsible for managing the airport, a Cessna Citation coming from Estrela D'Oeste (SP) had problems with the brake system upon landing, skidding on the runway. The incident occurred around 16:13 p.m. There are no reports of injuries.

Due to what happened, the airport's main runways have suspended operations until the plane is removed from the runway. Aena said it has already started the procedures to remove the aircraft, so that the terminal can return to normal operations.
Including the problem with operations on the runway, the terminal also suffered from a lack of light due to heavy rain. Even with the use of generators, power was not fully restored.
Photos and videos that are circulating on social media give a greater dimension of the chaotic situation for passengers. There are also reports that some hangars had structural problems due to the wind.
